    MBUK Yorkshire connection?

The very tall guy on a Cannondale is more likely to have been Jon Hairsine. The Scott rep is Jough Watson – Joe Waugh was one of the partners at M Steel Cycles along with Dave Yates.

Some more sad news, I'm afraid

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Sorry I can't reply to them all, but it's just lovely to hear how many people blame me in part for their mountain bike addiction :) This cancer thing is very very odd. Aside from often being unusually tired, I feel pretty normal. I can still ride, though...

Amazing! I have to memory of that photoshoot at all, but the photographer Tony F Nolan was a legend in Sydney surfing and mountain biking circles.

Some more sad news, I'm afraid

I wrote quite a few product reviews, but Nigel Jackson and then Steve Worland were the main bike testers. Thanks for the kind words!

Some more sad news, I'm afraid

Thank you! They were amazing days. We had no idea what we were doing organising races, racing and doing a magazine, but we did it anyway.

Too kind, but if mountain biking took over your life and finances, I'm not copping the blame :)

Really nice work and great to see that old warhorse restored to glory! I had so much fun on that bike BITD.

    Early 90s MBUK

Thanks guys - haven't been able to find out yet

    Early 90s MBUK

Hi folks I'm hoping someone here is enough of a packrat to have kept copies of MBUK from the early 90s. Tym Manley and I are wracking our brains to try and remember exactly which issue was the first one published by Future after it bought the title from Pacificon in 1991. I think it was...

To be honest, I can't remember if I wrote up this bike or someone else wrote up a very similar one, so I'll have o give you a definite maybe on that :)

Home found! (was Free to a good home: late 80s Dave Yates)

I may be being naive or optimistic, but even if that does happen, it's something I don't have time or inclination for, so I've not lost anything.

Home found! (was Free to a good home: late 80s Dave Yates)

A chap called Mark has put his hand up for this in double-quick time, so it's his. I know I could have sold it, but most of it was swag and I've never been comfortable selling off journo freebies. It's more important to me that it'll get looked after and ridden rather than gathering dust in...

Home found! (was Free to a good home: late 80s Dave Yates)

An impending move, lack of space and the fact that I just don't ride them any more means this and another of my old bikes are up for grabs. This is one of a batch of bike that Dave Yates built for the Two Wheels Good team in 1988. The tubing's Tange Prestige, fillet brazed by Dave...

An impending move, lack of space and the fact that I just don't ride them any more means this and another of my old bikes are up for grabs. This is a Santa Cruz-built Bontrager Race OR. I won't pretend it's not tatty, which is why I don't want any money for it, but I'm hoping someone will...
