    Dawes Ranger

Looks tidy other than those shifters. Really want one of these, but Oakham is bloody miles away.

    Cargo Bike Project.

Hi All Just to wrap this one up. I sold it......for £0.99p 🤣 A guy drove all the way up from that there London, and is shipping it out to Africa (apparently). So you can all sleep easy that this won't be mowing your kids down (unless they live in Mozambique) or increasing your taxes due to...

Rear world experiences with brooks b /c 17

I bought an old, worn-in B17 recently and already find it quite comfy, despite needing to 're-shape' to my bum bones. It was £20, and already quite tatty. So I'm not too worried about rain. So...erm yeh...buy a used brooks and save the breaking in for the previous owner!

    Help identify Dawes 631 frame.

Sounds like a Dawes "one down" which is an earlier Sardar. But they are 26", not 700c. I'm not sure the frame is the same as mine either, so a bit stumped.

    Anyone into classic cars

Not really classics for me, but my daily's keep me fairly busy with keeping them sweet. Funny really, when I first starting driving, owning a 20 year old car felt like an OLD car. Nowadays, these still feel and look fairly modern. Just bought this. Plenty of work required, its a bit of a...

If you're in Stockport you could try Steve Goff (Skelmersdale) or I believe there is a place in Bury 'Atlantic Boulevard' - not heard much about them though.

    Car Transporter...?

    Cargo Bike Project.

 Thanks all for the replies. Yes, it's definitely bad, but I am "in it" now, so will probably go a at least a little bit further before chalking it down to experience. I can live with losing a few quid if I can have a bit of fun with it. I don't think that the main beam has been cut...

    Cargo Bike Project.

Upon inspection, I can't hide that I'm having second thoughts. But here we are. This is the 'bolted' join which needs welding solid (in my opinion) Most of the welds look ok, I'm no welder but they look to have penetrated? Alas, the joining at the bottom bracket is definitely "iffy"...

    Cargo Bike Project.

I'll take the box off later and take some photo's of the bare chassis. Pretty sure it's just a long length of 2" box section, with 2 x "T-pieces" of 1" box to form the loading platform. Would definitely be keen to know whether some gussets to these would help reduce twist etc. Definitely don't...

Think it was M5 sadly. Same size bolt as used on a pannier rack braze-on / bottle cage etc. Will double check later on.
