It's the clamp for my lock. It's shame to have to put it there, but needs must. Despite the relative modernity, I think the lugs, fluted seat-post, toe-clips, quill stem (albeit black), Campag hubs, chromed forks and chain-stay keep it looking pretty real.

Bought this in very fine fettle but made a few adjustments, if only because the bars were too wide, the tape was rather garish, and the hoods had near perished: changed the tyres, stem, handlebars, pedals, hoods, bar-tape, saddle. Feast...

Re: Actually. not everybody minds modern gear on an old frame, and I don't actually think a bad job has been done here. To decide whether or not it's worth the asking price, though, I'd want to see pictures of the frame prior to restoration, and I'd want to know a bit more about its provenance.
