Re:
Ebay or 'unbranded' is what I want to avoid as speaking from my experience of other items I've bought... not worth the time or hassle.
Anyway cheers for the advice all!
Are you sure?
The description says:
FSA headsets are carefully engineered and updated to deliver the highest performance and value. Upper cup uses 5/32 x 22 caged ball bearings and the lower cup uses sealed cartridge bearing.
I was hoping for a models with sealed cartridge bearings in the top...
Re:
Any recommendations on which FSA models to look out for?
I also recall Cane Creak from that era but not which models.
What ones are available new in today’s biking world?
Hi all
Been out of the biking world for too long.
Looking for recommendations on headsets for 1 1/8 threadless mid/late 90s bike.
Not wanting a Chris king or anything.
Ideally with sealed bearings, not balls in cages.
Cheers
Re:
Gears were all fine before hand.
Once I got the issue it was slipping in the smallest cogs.
Once onto the bigger it easy fine.
As for pics I need to update my build thread as it's now built.
Re:
Cheers for the tips guy I shall check tonight in the shed.
Pretty sure it's not the chain it's brand new.
I'm gonna swap wheels around with the wife's bike and check.
Could be a bent axle as i am a fat git lol
Re:
I've got m950 hubs and m950 cassette. Both bought second hand....
OK that's good to know any locking nut will do.
I wasn't sure that if I had a m950 cassette I had to have a certain locking nut.
As for mech and their jockey wheels on mech the seem fine.
OK where to start. Ive recently built schwinn up with a complete 8 speed M950/2 groupset.
Start after many year to get (my 18 stone) back in the saddle and have covered about 15 miles since.
Now out for a ride again this evening and after about 5 mile the pedals become hard to turn with a lot...
Re:
Hi thanks for the reply.
I'm guessing they were a budget bike based on the component.
Just wondering when this frame version was available and how 'good' it is.
