    1991 Bradbury Manitou FS

I remember reading about that bike in magazines at the time, and being in awe of how Doug had thought about it, down to the last detail. A museum piece!

1990 Lavoie Titanium made by Maurice Lavoie

I've just seen this and read through it - great story! And great bike at a bargain price! I remember that MBUK article, pitting the road bike against the mountain bike. There was a trend at that time to try and make mountain bikes like road bikes. The 80s had seen components getting heavier and...

1982 Cook Bros. Custom Fillet Brazed

Like everyone has said, thanks for sharing such a great bike and a great story. You mention that the stem and headset is an ahead-style one - could you give us more details on that setup? The one main photo at the start is the only one that shows the stem.

    1988 Paul Donohue Double-U

I love those colours, the pink and blue was one of my favourite colour schemes back in the day. Nice build

Feature Bike Richard Thackray Original Team Pace F1 - Restoration Thread - Completed

This is next-level stuff, the attention to detail really sets it apart. Someone commented earlier that it's more than just throwing £10k worth of NOS parts on a frame, and I would agree. The knowledge base that you have sought out and utilised is priceless. Big thanks to everyone involved.

    Wanted Fluted 26.8 seatpost

This may be a bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for a fluted seatpost. The diameter is 26.8mm,and I'm not sure about the length, other than that it needs to be longer than the 4" posts that are more common on road bikes. There may not be such a thing, in which case I will stick with a plain...

    Muddyfox aluminium pro

Re: I know that you mean about brand snobbery. Looking at the bare metal frame, it has so many cool features - box-section wishbone stays, flattered tubes or gussets at the joints, neat welds. If it came from a boutique American frame builder, we all would have drooled over it as teenagers. But...

Zinniness ...... lets build the dream, Project Flowers British steel 🇬🇧

Re: Re: True, and at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself what's going to give you the most pleasure when you're riding it or showing it? It is only a little sticker, it doesn't really matter what it says!

Zinniness ...... lets build the dream, Project Flowers British steel 🇬🇧

Re: Maybe I'm too honest for my own good, but I would go for 531 decals. Also I think Reynolds won't sell their decals to anyone. They want to see some proof that their tubes are marked up correctly, but I may be mistaken.

How many speeds can I get?

Re: I hadn't thought to check how many clicks were on the shifter (doh). It's got 8 clicks, so I need to look for a 9 speed cassette. Thanks for all the advice, and thanks for the link to the article on gear ratios and compatibility, etc. I actually find all that stuff really interesting (I...

How many speeds can I get?

OK, so is that a case of getting spacers in between the sprockets on the freehub?

How many speeds can I get?

Hi, I need some help please - my bike knowledge has a gaping hole after about 1991! I bought a 2007 Specialized Stumpjumper off t'bay a few years ago with almost all of its parts swapped for cheap crappy ones. I've been gradually building it back to its original spec so that my daughter can use...

Cobra Cycles No.74 - Reynolds 531 British steel finished P3

Re: A really nice build. The Mavic groupset is rarely seen, but always a treat to see.
