Re: ICONOCLASSIC - UK'S LARGEST DISPLAY OF PRE-'95 MTBS!
Funnily enough a mate of mine still rides with Tim Gould. He's back racing again, although I'm sure everyone already knows this!
I have a set of wheels with White Industries hubs but never knew they made mechs too. (I remember popping into my local bike shop when they first came out and the owner handing me a rear hub and telling me how much it cost. And me being staggered when he told me he'd already sold a couple!)...
Re: ICONOCLASSIC - UK'S LARGEST DISPLAY OF PRE-'95 MTBS!
The two chaps in the tracksuits in the old picture were Tim Gould (I think) on the left and David Baker (definitely) on the right.
Re:
I travel a bit for work, so may be able to help out. I'm driving from Norwich to Paignton next week and to Peterborough and Leicester the week after. Shame they're not the other way round.
If it's in Cambridge by next week, though I may be able to collect it and get it closer to Bournemouth.
Re:
I always seem to miss these threads until too late!
If anyone is interested, though, there's a two hour ride from Brandon Country Park every Monday evening, starting at 7pm.
Ooh, I've been booked to drive to my sister's on the 26th to collect my mum and bring her back to Norfolk on the 27th.
My sister lives about five miles from Cannock Chase. I wonder if I can work this into my schedule?
I haven't time to read through the entire thread, but did you manage to get in touch with Tim Gould? A friend of mine rides with him every now and again and may be able to put you in touch.
I also ride a Roberts White Spider, by the way. I bought it second hand in 1993. It has Pro Circuit forks...
