Mostly Exage 300 LX, with some Deore DX, and biopace chainring. The frame looks very nice quality craftsmanship.

Just picked up another bike to restore, it’s a Dawes Kickback Magnum with a REYNOLDS 501 Magnum lugged frame, cost me all of 10 quid. Any idea of when this was made?

Re: Looks like a design by committee job, a lady’s bike for the roads of Cambridge, most people generally fall down the pot holes but this sucker will glide over the top of them. Over engineered, hard on the eye, perfect for being spotted in gridlocked traffic.

Hi All, I am trying to make sense of serial numbers on GT Mountain Bikes, not BMX as they seem totally different. I have researched how to decode these and it appears that there is lots of conflicting information on the web and it seems forums as well so I propose we start a thread here...

Re: Thanks, the tyres are really comfy and grip really well. The test ride this morning was quite reassuring, the ride was tight, I noticed very little sway at the bottom bracket which normally indicates a good frame. Really nice ride and surprisingly comfy! Its a keeper!
