Help wanted getting a bike from Austria

Frame arrived VERY well-packed by @KayOs . Mad props to KayOs for taking the time to get the bike, sourcing a box, packing and shipping the bike, and keeping me informed during the entire process! The packing job in particular was a labor of love. Thanks @KayOs ! I am indebted to you...

Help wanted getting a bike from Austria

OK, I don't have it yet, but perhaps it's time for the big reveal. First, the good news: RBer @KayOs happened to be traveling right by the seller's location and was kind enough to get this for me. It was listed for sale on Kleinenziegen, so the seller wanted to deal locally. Many thanks to...

Packing an e-stay for shipping; what NOT to do.

I forgot to mention that I understand that many LBSs have never experienced this issue for the simple reason that they've probably never shipped an e-stay before because they're not very common. Nonetheless, you can't MAKE people care; either they care, or they don't.

Packing an e-stay for shipping; what NOT to do.

I posted about this on RB a few years back, but I cannot find my original post. It contained enough pics to show the damage that can occur when shipping a full bike (specifically an e-stay) if it's packed carelessly. Perhaps someone here can find it? Bottom line: the abrasive end of the axle...

First Generation Fisher CR-7 on eBay in USA.......NICE!

Not to derail (although I started this thread so I think it's OK), I just saw this in the internet; a 29er BMX Cruiser with bolt-on chrome rear triangle. I can't tell if the front triangle is steel or aluminum, although I can't imagine a reason to bolt steel to steel in this case. I thought...

Help wanted getting a bike from Austria

I believe you are correct, @PanoIgano . I'm just saying that I wouldn't blame anyone for going after that bike if the advertisement became common knowledge. Once it's out, it's fair game really, hence my desire for confidentiality.

Help wanted getting a bike from Austria

Thanks, @Froglegz . DM returned. Another member has already offered to help, so I should have updated this thead earlier. As I said in my DM, keep me in mind anyway if someday you need assistance from USA. If and when this quest is successful, I'll do the "big reveal" on this thread as well.

    1991 Alpinestars T24 Cro-mega LX

By asking £260 on eBay, the seller is, in effect, offering a discount for RB members of roughly 23% (selling to members here for £200, which is 77% of what the eBay buyer willl have to pay). Subtract the 13% that eBay charges, and the seller ends up making roughly 15% more from a random eBay...

Help wanted getting a bike from Austria

I just re-read my last post and I feel the need to clarify; although it may appear flippant, it’s just me trolling for laughs. If someone outs an auction on eBay, of course it’s “every man for himself”, and some auctions play out like shark attack feeding frenzies, whereas if someone were...

    San Andreas Mountain Cycle

Naturally, and again I think I speak for most of us, we'd like to get it as inexpensively as possible, but I think your best bet to determine value is to google "mountain cycle san andreas" and you'll find them occasionally on eBay, Pinkbike, Craigslist, Kleinenzeigen, etc. For eBay, just...
