For sale on Marktplaats (Dutch) Kona Fire Mountain

For the Dutch among us. Now for sale on Marktplaats a Kona Fire Mountain. Sorry cannot place a link here, but it's under fietsen/mountainbikes and then search for Kona. Photo's are not that good so hard to recognize the condition of the bike. Greetings, Herman

    Guyzer revisited...pretty much done

Very nice looking bike. I like it a lot. And you could be right, the rest of the bike looks very lean and light, and only the stem and bars are fat/oversized. The first time I looked at the photo I had the same idea. It looks good, but just a bit out of place. But color and bike look very...

'91 Cannondale SM800 Beast of The East (new pics 13-8-08)

I changed the inner and outer cable, and made the bottom loop a bit larger, it doesn't look as good as the original loop (that was tighter) but the shifting has really improved. It's still not good compared to a push-pull system, but I'm gonna leave it like this. It's something different...

New toys for the Cannondale Beast!

Re: Dale To be honest I find them a bit skinny compared to the original forks. And in red there not gonna look any fatter I'm afraid. Greetings, Herman

Regarding the gearing, I noticed that the last curve near the rear derailleur is the troublemaker. The cable makes a rather short loop there. But when I look at the pictures from the bike in the '91 catalogue it looks the same there. The cables are in a really good shape, so for the time being I...

    '93 Marin Bear Valley SE

When I measure it center to center its 19 inches (48cm). I'm not sure about selling it. Like I wrote it's to big for me (I'm 1.73 m so that's around 5 feet 7 in your sizes) but on the road it's not so bad. But if you make me an offer I can't refuse who knows.. It's not as nimble as my...

'91 Cannondale SM800 Beast of The East (new pics 13-8-08)

Here some updates picture's. I changed the tires, no worry I'm gonna keep the Porcupines. Changed the saddle, for the time being a modern saddle marked Cannondale but doesn't look to bad in my opinion. Touched up most of the scratches, only trouble is finding the neon/orange paint for the...

    '93 Marin Bear Valley SE

Yup, I bought another one (I'm gonna stop browsing through adverts not to be tempted again). It's a '93 Marlin Bear Valley in very good and original state. It even had a Cateye Vectra cc-7000 from I think the right era on it. Even the tires are the original Marin Lite ones. Only thing not...

'91 Cannondale SM800 Beast of The East (new pics 13-8-08)

Yep, it's an Avocet "something" W20. The Richeys are the original Vantage Comp (the almost gone stickers say so), at least I think so. The hubs are certainley original. I just regreased all the bearings yesterday's. And only from the rear hub on one side the bearing balls need to be...

'91 Cannondale SM800 Beast of The East (new pics 13-8-08)

Any tips on which saddle to get? It doesn't have to be an old saddle, just a retro looking new one will do. I have been looking around "Marktplaats" that's a Dutch kind of Ebay site. But didn't find a good looking saddle. Tips are welcome. Greetings, Herman
