Would be good to hear from anyone with an old pair of steel forks lurking at the back of the shed. Must be 1" threaded stearer, minimum 170mm, A-C 390mm minimum (longer the better). P2s would be ideal! I can pay up to £30 posted, £40 at a stretch. CHEERS!

Looking for good condition gear for a tourer build: + XT or other high quality drive train, front and rear mechs, BB, v-brakes, levers, etc. (Doesn't need to be matching groupset though) + Gripshifts would be nice + Pair of TOUGH wheels, reasonably light + Odds and ends like lightweight...

@ ellillowladex Sounds like the kind of thing I'm after, can you give me a price for frame and forks only? Might be interested in some of the other gear too, any chance of a pic or two?

Ah, sounds IDEAL but shipping from Canada to UK will probably blow my budget! (I'm guessing it would be a few hundred dollars to ship) But thanks a lot for letting me know : )

I'm after a nice old steel frame MTB to modify for touring... needs rack bosses (at rear at least), fairly old school geometry and no dents... An old stumpy, an Orange clockwork/prestige, or a 900 series Trek for example... Looking for a nicely maintained bike rather than something tricked up...
