Re: I have a 2004 55cm Lemond Zurich Reynolds 853 pro.. The bare frame set minus fork weighs 1750 grams. It's tig welded so would be considerably lighter than a lugged and brazed frame..

I remember Sean Kelly used to sell off his old team bikes, and unused mavic ssc groupsets every winter. Knew loads of people who used to ride king Kelly's genuine Skill and Kas 979 duralinox bikes :D

Just remove the axle from your hub...clamp it in a vise...remove the problematic lock-nut...and fit a lock-nut from a modern hyperglide hub....Problem sloved :D

Was just thinking- You may have an early Dura-Ace 7400 series hub. These were uni-glide...a slightly shallower spline pattern lock ring than the now ubiquitous hyper-glide...(See photo) Also pictured are the dedicated pre-97 dura-ace removal tool...and a morningstar freehub buddy.... This tool...
