I know it's an old thread but in the interests of historical Fact: The 1990 Purple Haze Karakoram seatpost is 26.4mm. I know this as I'm trying to saw out a seized tube from this same bike. Actually comes in at a consistent 26.37mm as measured on a Verynear (Vernier). It's darn near 3.5mm...

My 15 quid hack for comparison. There are a few minor differences that suggest pete_mcc is right about Fuji selling these en-masse for rebranding.
