Re: Thanks for the nice comments. The rear mech is a 1st gen Suntour Cyclone (works great and very light at 175g). According to the following brochure (see page 3 below), the cost for a polished frame & fork was $575, which was very expensive for the time.

The Weyless pedals were badly scratched and deformed, but worth saving. I cut out some wood blocks to reshape the pedal cages and filed away the scratches. Then I sent the pedals out to be re-anodized:
