Thanks for your help, the 2 bikes look very similar except the front and rear derailleurs are branded Raleigh as is the stem. And the brake levers screw into nutserts in the bars, on the bike I have thanks again for your help

We all have our own opinions, and after all as you say its your bike and its up to you, it is a nice bike and if it was mine apart from the tyres I wouldn't change a thing. I wasn't criticising your idea just offering my point of view

Sorry can't help you with the colour scheme or decals, but seeing as Sid Mottram also didn't build his own frames it rules him out . It could be a Barry Bond frame as he was a prolific Leicestershire frame builder and made frames for other local shops as well as his own
