Modern bikes w/ Retro-ish geo thread?

Apart from suspension corrected forks the geo definitely isn’t modern. Plus excuse to show off my bike!

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

Maybe it’s a habit thing. Most levers only got bigger to fit everything in. I shattered my middle finger so it doesn’t bend fully but still manage with old school levers.

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

I have big “working hands” And for me, I like the trp rrl levers so maybe I’m not much use. Also a fan of the slr shimano levers.

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

Kind of. They are very comfy on the hoods but if you ride fixed or just pull up on the bars a lot its uncomfortable. There is a cavity where the shift lever would be on double tap lever which is quite sharp. Also the levers are unsprung as the spring is in the shift mechanism so you need good...

Dont you just hate it when.....................

200k into a 400k on a newly built (as in fresh from the factory) Bob Jackson. Got to the control at Paddington station where I lent my bike against a round pillar with a fancy square base. Turn to get my brevet card signed and hear a bang. Turn back to find my new Bob Jackson has a big dent in...

    Mystery Raleigh Frameset

Interesting, my 708 randonneur had a bottom bracket shell that was super flexy. The 531 royal was so smooth.

    Mystery Raleigh Frameset

I’ve had a 531 and a 708, the 531 was by far the better bicycle.

    Mystery Raleigh Frameset

I agree, I had a burgundy one. One of the best frames I’ve had. One of the only frames I regret selling. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/raleigh-royal-almost-nos.357426/

Not a Randonneur as it’s missing the spoke holders

    Titanium bottle cages

We have a market economy, not planned. This means apart from tax incentives there it little way to steer the boat. If it’s cheaper for a company to export their manufacturing it is in the interest for the company and/or shareholders to do so. We as a state have been subsidising the rich forever...

    Titanium bottle cages

I didn’t saw I wasn’t. You singled out China and I was curious why. It’s not like if I buy from hope (just got some tech 4 x2 on the way) anyone would expect me to make any comment about the bloodshed the U.K. has spread over centuries. It would actually make me look a little unhinged.

    Titanium bottle cages

I literally provided links to massive increase in welfare, healthcare, life expectancy and education with further tabs showing decrease in negative metrics. Not only this the wealth inequality has been a constant that means increase in gdp is being shared (rising tide). The CCP has environmental...
