Clearance is massive. I was even considering 660b but I don’t really have the funds atm. Some fatties sound like a good option in the meantime.

Hello! Just thought I’d show off this rather unusual marketplace find. Couldn’t find a single pic of one online. If anyone knows anything more about it I’d love to hear. Also any suggestions for a build from it!

Thanks for that! It’s nice to have some info recorded somewhere about it as I literally can find nothing on the web which is pretty unusual these days. I got the bike from a guy who does house clearances so not much info there. To be honest I was just going to shift it on as it’s not my size...

Can anybody tell me about this frame? Was in a bit of a sorry state but still had some nice gear on it including a Brooks saddle dated 1966. From what I understand Rusforth and Donovan was a shop in Wakefield that has long since passed. Google draws a total blank. It’s been suggested to me that...

All done I think. Went with some simplex running gear and a galli crankset I had lying around. Looks pretty I think. Unfortunately it’s way too small for me (56cm) so it’s going on eBay. Enjoy the pics.

I’d do a full neo-retro build on it. Find a nice modern bike with something like a 10 speed 105 or above (depending on budget). Swap components over. Sell frame and spare parts on eBay. Something like this…

It’s definitely original so they can’t call us out on that! I’m thankful really because they were much easier to trace over that way :)

Quick update on mine. Coming together well - just waiting on a few bits. Decided to apply some humbrol paint to Mrs Maplebeck’s artistry - not perfect but an improvement. Having a bit of an issue with the cable routing as it the rear brake hose comes in at a very steep angle - stepped ferrule...

Gosh yes! Bet it’s got a right story to tell. Fantastic job of the little vignettes - really kept the spirit of the bike alive :)

Thanks guys. Sadly the further I’ve got with this one the worse it’s got. Seatpost came out ok but the stem not so much. Gave it some heat and then wd40, then put a bit to much force in it bending the forks 😩 Noticed that the paint came away under the crown revealing quite a lot of rust so not...

So on inspecting it in daylight I found this! Unfortunately I also found the stem and Seatpost are seized despite me directly asking the seller. So I have just bought myself a headache.

Thanks guys that’s great. Don’t worry the chainset will be replaced! I’m guessing it was an STX one originally.
