Hi I'm building a flat bar bike and want to use my 7410 8 speed groupset. Can anyone tell me which Shimano Sti combined brake/gear levers for flat bars will give the correct shifting? The closest I can find is the Str 221 but I'm worried about accurate shifting as I believe the 7410...

It's interesting that it's illegally reproduced content. Tim Paterek deserves to be paid for the work that he did. He's produced a wealth of information and structured it in a very usable manual. That in itself is worthy of reasonable financial reward. Ernst

Panaracer do the Pasela model in 27". Comes in 1, 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 sizes. Looks correct too with amber/cream sidewalls. Ernst

One other thing that you might need to think about. If you're using cranks that need a bottom bracket spindle with a square taper fit, then Campag and Shimano use a slightly different taper. Campag uses an ISO taper while Shimano is JIS. Theyre not really interchangeable as they give different...

Not sure I agree with that. I should probably check which period we're talking about? I was referring to the last 10-15 years or so where American custom steel framebuilders (many of whom learned their trade in the UK) have revitalized the steel frame market.

Probably some truth in that, if a touch overstated...
