Hi interested in the chorus rear mech, but can't see any pics. Have you got any? many thanks.
I think the circle line should let you take a bike on the train as it doesn't go below ground. I used it a couple of years ago, not sure if they've changed the rules on it or not though.
I think Sachs have a different cable pull ratio to either campagnolo or shimano (around 1.6). You should be able to pick up some sachs brifters as they pop up every now and then.
I think most road bikes come with 170s anyway as you tend to have a higher cadence on road than of it. I only notice a difference with crank lengths when there is a significant difference i.e more than 10mm difference in crank length.
Looking at the picture of the mavic bottom bracket I would think that not too much of the thread has been removed and that you should still be able to fit a normal bottom bracket in the future.
When sewing it back up you just have to make sure that you do it really tight, once you've worked out a method for this it's not too hard. If your only going to be using cheap tubs like a vittoria rally then you might as well swap to 'normal' wheels and tyres. If you decide to keep using tubs...
The British standard 6102 says that a bike must have two independent braking systems, one on each wheel. A fixed wheel is counted as an acceptable brake. I wouldn't want to ride with only one brake just in case there is a problem.
