That's the chap! Had a chat with my dad last night, the pivot was welded then bored out with a stainless sleeve fitted which he thought was a functional improvement. He seems quite proud of the bike and definitely doesn't want to sell... ...it would be interesting to know the sort of money, is...

What sort of money? (I think it has lost its stickers and may have had some minor welding done to strengthen the swing arm pivot) I will see if he can email a photo at some point

Yep, my dad always looks after his kit well (unlike me). He has a aluminium framed Marin Manitou with the very old school rear suspension arrangement, still in good condition and used a few times a year.
