Thanks. My thinking is this though - if I did have a collision with a 7month on board, I would have my arms around him so that I took the blows - not him! Surely on the back of the bike he is likely to come off worse? I would only use a front seat for the next 6 months or so.

Thanks John, the Siesta looks ideal when he's a bit bigger. Trailer is no use round here as all the cycle paths have helpful skinny gates every half mile or so :x Looking at our Dutch cousins, they seem to get their snot-gobblers in forward seats as soon as they can hold their heads...

Can anyone recommend a child seat? I have a 7 month old son (built like a 10 month old and very strong!) Don't fancy a trailer with all the kissing gates around here. I think a front mount would be best, even with the "knees out" riding!
