    Project British Eagle Shadow fixie

Fixie off road riding is my very experience is quite scary. I havent got use to the lack of back pedal yet. I think the trick is to plan the trail in front and be mindful of any tree stumps that the pedal might it. But on the road it is fine, the only thing that was weird is starting off and...

    Project British Eagle Shadow fixie

So after a shot blasting and powder coating, I changed a black classic into a lean green machine. I am currently working on doing replica decals but this is a proof of concept to see if I can convert to a fixie.

    Project British Eagle Shadow fixie

I have finally got round to sorting out my British Eagle Shadow Reynolds 531 bike. I had done thousand of miles on it and it was wearing out and looking rather rusty in places. So a stripdown of components and paint showed the frame was only suffering from surface rust so I set about getting it...

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I was just reading on Sheldon Brown Bicycle Technical Web Site an article about Evil Bikes and I have never thought about it but Diablo apparently is spanish for Devil. Cool Name! Daz

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I have done some tweaks to the Jamis. I was running a 7 speed block that went to do a 11 tooth rear. However even using the extra spacer to allow 11 tooth rear on a old style Hyperglide I still had a slight wobble on the rear cassette. Also the rear chainstays are wide enough for a 8/9 speed...

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I didn't notice if there was stampings on my frames or fork, in all fairness i was more focused on servicing the headset. I will look and see what my says. Daz

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

Yes its a Spectre UL Comp. Thanks for the heads up. Bit of shame that they have a bad rep. I was impressed by its lightness, might be why they snap. I have a Girvin Flexstem that has got a sideways wobble which I intend to sort out and put on it. Daz

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

Cool Looking Jamis's guys. With regards to the age of mine I am not sure, My frame as 2 top routed cables for rear mech and brakes and a bottom routed cable for front mech. but I have attached a piccy of what i think is some filleting brazing. Daz

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I have fitted some components to my frame and got it going. I have used some retro parts but unfortunately my old LX crank big chainring is worn out so I have used a budget 48 32 28. might no be a bad thing as I seem to get on with the 48 chainring better than the 46 thats on the LX. any way...

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I do fancy stripping the frame and giving it a new powder coat. But I am not sure where to get reproduction decals from. I love the 80s style decals. there are some good examples of these bikes the on the site I cant wait to get this one up and running. I am going to try and clean up the paint...

    Project bike Jamis Diablo

I have got an old Jamis frame and forks that I intend to make up into a commutting bike. the paint work is a little beaten up and there is some surface rust but it is really light. I have a stash of old dx and lx stuff to use. but the space within the rear chain stays seems big enough for a 8/9...
