Thanks all for your comments. I've had the headset and BB out, cleaned out headtube, bb shell and seatube and am confident it all looks ok. Filled the pitting round those cable stops and am going to repsray the whole top-tube and a couple of discreet surface spots too. Then I have a decent pair...
