    1991 DB Ascent Singlespeed SOLD

Hello people, I'm selling the Diamond back. I bought it from Chrisv40 about 2 weeks ago, and although i love the bike my commute is too hilly for a single speed. It's also a tad small for me too to be honest, so all in all, it has to go. :( I'm well gutted too, as I love it, it's just not...

    What speed rear cassette?

I've seen a black 8am cassette on CRC which I fancy, stealth gears!!

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

Hehe, really don't worry mate. I am 100% not spraying it. I did consider it, but absolutely love how it looks now. The commute theft thing isn't too bad to be honest, apart from the quick release saddle, but I'll sort that.

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

I do like it on the dirt tyres, a lot. I bought it quickly and was tempted to spray it black but the bike has really grown on me. I need to be careful though, if I spend too much it will become one I don't want to commute on hehe Slicks it is for now though, and luckily I love how it looks on...

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

Continental sport contact slicks. 1.6" wide I believe. I love them, and hopefully will make the commute a lot easier so I can give it a harder gear so I don't spin out so easily when going downhill. I did consider canti's as the v-brakes obviously aren't right for the frame, but I really...

    What speed rear cassette?

aha, so it was another member who he bought it from, I thought he said it was! Hello mate! Seems weird knowing it's been through a few people in a few months, and yet still on the same site. I will double check with chris then. I think it's a specialized rear wheel, I'm pretty sure I saw...

    What speed rear cassette?

I recently purchased a bike which was converted to singlespeed, which cab be seen HERE. However, my commute is too hilly for singlespeed (spinning out on the way to work, and legs like jelly coming home), so I was considering putting the rear casette and mech back on. Question is, how do I...

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

I have no choice not having a garage or shed...yet. Shed is to go up in the summer when i've built a fence. The mrs is very laid back though, so all good there!

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

Hopefully not too slick! I ran my road bike through most of the bad weather before christmas and never came off, so we shall see. I love the look of it though, and love the clean look from no gears.

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

Here's my bike, many of you may well recognise it from Chrisv40, and I believe he bought it from someone else on here too, although I could be wrong. I've just put slicks on it for my commute, and am still in the process of considering whether to convert it back to geared at the rear as my...

    Fear of fixing it yourself

I'm pretty new to bikes really, had a few when i was a kid, but then got out of the loop. I now have a GT which is my blasphemous modern hardtail, and a retro single speed diamond back which I just bought from chrisv40, oh and a crappy road bike which is in the workshop (my spare bedroom) at the...

    lets see your winter bikes

I won't, it's definitely growing on me. I think it was just a little anxious of how bright it was at first. The single speed killed me on the way home today! 3 miles uphill, but I just managed it and absolutely loved it.

    lets see your winter bikes

Pretty new to the forum, but thought i'd add mine... It was this: But the brakes died, and I always wanted a retro bike, so bought this just last week from chrisv40. First singlespeed bike (excluding BMX's of course) and loving it. My legs killed after my commute home today though, as I...
