Re: Re: Hey matt and ishaw.... yep looks very similar to the seat lug on the old giants, but this one is much bigger and roughly cast, and not as smooth or elegant as the giant ones. Driving me nuts trying to work it out.

Hey Team .... got this at a garage sale today for $5 and can't work out what it is. Frame is alloy main tubes with steel seat stays and chain stays. Lugs are cast alloy and the tubes look like they are prssed or bonded into the lugs. Girvin Proforx with a Orbit headset. Came fitted with 7sp...

....been in touch with the seller and they are expecting to get upwards of $7000 for the bike ??????

Yep ..... the tubes and lower legs are in great shape. Will have a go at servicing the cartridge while I'm at it.

Picked up a Giant ATX990 this week with a set of Judy XC. Pulled the Judys down to see what shape they were in and surprise ........ Check out the awesome condition of the elastomer stack ..... That was all that was left. The rest was just black dust !!

Hey Team ..... looking for some new brake cartridge insert thingys for my Deore LX Canti's. The ones where you slide the rubber block in and lock it with a small screw. Want to stay with these for no other reason than I like the look of them. Can't seem to find them anywhere.

...... when in doubt, just get a bigger hammer. Hit em a bit harder this time and presto ..... Now does anyone have a good tip for dissolving the elastomer crud stuck all over the inside of the tubes??
