'92 clockwork, the bike i always wanted after seeing one for the first time when i was 17, rides like a dream, restoration cost me way more than i am sure its worth but i dont care as its a keeper
just realised i should have updated this ages ago, thanks to Gil_M it has decals exactly as i wanted them, ithink they are correct but if not then they are a more refined version of what they should have had as they arent single colour, GIL_M did a great job, better than the painter for sure as...
Re:
and so it goes on
the previopus attached orange white fade 93 picture is the only orange and white fade i have found that is the same model as mine with the combined top tube cable guides
i think mine was previousely flouro orange all over as i found orange remnants around the bottle bosses...
Re:
Thanks all for the updated info
Its a frame number is A305blablabla
so a may 93
maybe for model year 94 then perhaps
i always wanted a clockwork so i am happy to lean more to the consensus of a clockwork and go with that
the tube set is defo completely different to the previous model year...
Re:
Can't believe I didn't notice the frame weights on this old stif advert
Weight difference clearly shown as 0.5lb between clockwork and prestige
Which is 226g
So
Considering production variations and having a gusset plate welded to the main frame, a weight difference of 212g seems close...
Re:
Thanks for the clarification
Would be really helpful to get some.prestige frame weights
I have no idea if they are normally a couple of hundred grams different or half a kilo etc.
Hopefully someone can add this
Re:
Thanks for the frame weight
Mine is a may 1993 and weighs 2056 with a girder Tig welded on
So that would be earlier but lighter
Frame is also a large
Still inconclusive
Re:
Thanks
That's what my research told me
It's the massive weight difference that throws me though
And it's the later frame which has tubing which matches range
I have a couple of what I thought were both Orange clockwork frames
was just about to order decals so i can take one to the painters but now i am not so sure they are both clockworks
frame A is
1992 manaufactured
original colour - satin black i think
pretty good condition, no damage but needs...
Hi all, i think given the suggestions by you kind folk i'm gonna use what I've got. givens its low value too is seems best to do a low cost resto and do what i want rather than be bound by shackles of authenticity.
thanks for the offers and ta for the pictures and inspiration
well I only need some orange forks if I am going authentic as the clockwork I have just acquired has got the right looking curved blades on it but they are GT
so if I am not going to worry about the authenticity then I'm already set I guess!
check the picture you'll see what I mean
I just realised I have confused myself across two posts I have running at the same time
thanks for the tip
given that clockworks are low in value it doesn't seem to make too much sense to shell out loads of loo laa on some forks
I believe the F7's were available in 93, not sure what the...
