Carbon forks were an option and should be painted the same colour as the frame. Actually the carbon fork is a desirable option and blends in well with the oversize tubing of the frame.

The gear cable stop on the R/H chainstay brazed on right up against the rear fork end is a bit of a Motobecane trade mark in the 80's , you could be onto something......
