It's probably just superficial, but I wouldn't be able to trust it.
I would have though there'd be plenty of non-destructive (from the frames perspective) of removing a seized post.
I still have what's left of one of those, pretty sure the jaws snapped pretty much immediately and it was retired to a toolbox (probably still there 20 years on).
The first time I road with maguras, back in 1996, I managed to throw myself over the handlebars when I thought I'd test them. This was prior to v-brakes, so I wasn't used to brakes that actually worked.
Re: Re:
Yup, just squeeze 'em, they'll be fine.
They don't even need to be that tight, I managed to snap a few of the supplied alloy bolts when I fitted mine the first time.
That looks about right, the sleeve doesn't need to wrap right around, you'd want a reasonable gap to make sure they'll clamp properly.
Were those clamps painted originally? Fairly sure the ones on mine are black.
Hi All,
My flite titanium has seen better days and could do with a tidy-up. It's badly scuffed but there are no tears. Is there any magic goo that I can paint it with?
Thanks
John

Not quite a tee, but I just found thing under a pile of gym clothes. Must have bought it in the mid to late 90s, I'm amazed in still in such good condition I used to wear it all the time.
