FS GT RAVE 1998 56cms Frame and Fork and headset **SOLD**

Due to the inevitable itch to build a new bike, and lack of space in the garage, my street beater gt rave is up for sale. This would be a great project for a retro rebuild back to the original 10 speed, or have as a city rider and beater as i did. Built from Cro-Mo steel, this is as tough a...

    who can identify me?

here's the link to a purchase of mine: https://picasaweb.google.com/blancgraff ... IOu-On8zA# no decals as a respray has been done prior to me, but the frame has oiler holes on the front forktube and by the BB, plus nice stiff back stays and exact 120mm spacing. The arched back stay...

    Joe Waugh

Joe Waugh's association with M Steel cycles (1894-2005) from Gosforth is the obvious link, you may have to chase the internet links to find a Spec sheet somewhere, otherwise i don't know of any distinctive frame numbering or 'secret' feature that shows a Waugh frame from another 531.

GT RAVE 1998 rebuilt as single speed

Here's my sixth bike built from scratch (a skip), this lovely 1998 GT Rave road bike has a Campag Athena crank, Normandy hubs (from 1975), and flip flop 16/19t cogs, red repaint job saving the decals, and a few other spare bits. Good city spinner, although it could do with a 42/40 double i...

    DRILLED TITANIUM seatpost

thanks jim - i think you could be right - drilling titanium to that degree would be probably too risky from a stability point of view, (and we've all noted the MB previous chat about Teledyne titanium forks failing in the 70s). Interesting you mention Sakae as thats what the Chainset is on my...
