☹️ Darn that's a shame - I think I need the mid length version .... which I think has a larger capacity. Thanks anyway ...

    Rear derailleur mounting

I have Simplex downtube shifters and would like to use an old Simplex rear derailleur that's been lurking in a box. Trouble is, the frame (with integral hanger) is threaed but the Simplex itself is threaded so mounts by 'pinching' onto the frame rather than screwing directly on. The Simplex...

Hi, I'm interested in the rear mech - but there seem to be three or four versions made and my searching is going nowhere! Do you know if it will work with a triple front ... or do you knw the capacity? My front ring is 52-39-30 and the rear is 24-11. Thanks

How to work out what axle I need

Re. the solid axle option ... doh! Well spotted and thank you :) Have gone for the 141mm Wheels one and will see what next when I rebuild the wheel. Hopefully plain sailing! 🤞

How to work out what axle I need

:( That's a shame. I really appreciate your help and wonder, do you think either of these will work ...? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356013151502 I'm confused by the 173mm overall length and "ideal for 130mm + rear spacing". https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403770275379?var=673677063016 It's 26TPI...

How to work out what axle I need

Thank you both. Pigman; if you have something that would work that'll be great - fingers crossed!

How to work out what axle I need

I have a late '80s wide flange Campag hub wheel that I would like to fit to a newish frame but the axle is too short. The new frame measures 131mm inside and 141mm outside and the axle is about 10mm too short. I tried my LBS but they said there are too many variables and I'd be better off...

Triple front mech - which one?!

    All sorted - hopefully!

    Front derailleur help please!

Thanks for your help; I've found an Ultegra 6603 that should, in theory, do the job. I'm always a little doubtful until things are put into practice! Although I'm fitting older kit to it, the Spa is actually a 2014 frame and currently running 10 speed. The wheel I want to use currently runs 6...

Triple front mech - which one?!

Does it have a part number stamped on it somewhere ..... I could look it up and check the spec. Thanks

Triple front mech - which one?!

Ahhh, I'm a luddite and still stuck on a front mech! Having thought about it ..... will the Alivio cope with my 52-30 tooth range? If it will, how much do you want for it? It would get me back on my bike while I work out what I'm doing ..... and who knows, it may well stay there!

    Front derailleur help please!

I'm upgrading my winter hack and was lucky enough to get hold of a Spa Audax I've recently swapped the triple crankset over (52-42-30) but the front derailleur won't swap as it's a different diameter. The more I look into it, the more I realise I haven't a clue what I'm looking for! What I need...

Triple front mech - which one?!

Sorry, but probably not; while I'm making the change I'd like to go for something a little further up the range. Thanks for looking though, really appreciate it.

Triple front mech - which one?!

Too hard core for me! 😬 .... but seeing as you don't need it - please let me. know more. Thank you 🙂

Triple front mech - which one?!

I should have said - it's a road bike and currently on 6 speed but thinking of going up to 8/9 maybe. I'm using downtube friction levers so not too pernickity .... will MTB parts work? Also working on a limited budget ..... those XTR bits are indeed lovely but a bit out of range :(
