Thanks for the link, I'll give it a read. Although by the looks of the pictures on it, my 'pitting' is a million times worse, I'm looking at more of an option to get rid of the chrome and start again, some of the chrome is even flaking off. :(

I've just got a Mercian and while I love it, it has some issues. The forks are chrome dipped and heavily pitted, probably not bad enough to worry about at the moment but I'm thinking they will be a complete state by next winter. What do I do? Is sandblasting them an option? Will I ever...

Really in need of a 27.2 alloy seat post, Ideally quite a short one I just purchased a mercian frame an I'm horrified that I dont have a seat post to fit :cry: I was hoping to build it up fast and ride it to work. I'm now really skint so cheap as poss! Thanks

Theres no markings that I can see, or codes, other than Shimano and the logo. Everything on the bike they came from was Shimano 600, so I was guessing that they are also Shimano 600 and having looked at the Shimano 600 (1st gen) hubs they do look like them.

I'm after a set of forks suitable for a 20 inch Falcon (head tube around 8.5cm) If not for a Falcon then any forks that would fit a 20 inch road bike, nothing chromed and no light fitting braze-on, to fit 700c wheels cheers!
