Nothing special, just an old Rockwell 11" that is in my garage. I bought it for cheap since it had issues that I eventually fixed, needed the motor rewound and some bearings. Debating tearing it down over the winter and having it bead blasted and powder coated.
I'm not a machinist, But I know...
Ok disregard there is a issue with my calipers. I used another set and verified that both are 26.4mm. I still had a very tough time seating the race so I chucked the fork in my lathe and took off .004" of material and the race seated with a few swift blows.
I said the same thing, I'll post some photos when I get home.
Also I can't find just the Campy crown race without buying an entire new headset. It's the last model 2000's era 1" threaded headset.
I have a 1976 Gios Super Record and a new Campagnolo Record 1" threaded headset. I both cups installed in the frame, but the crown race refuses to seat. When it does it seats on crooked. no matter how much grease and work I put into getting this seated. I did notice that the frame is cut for a...
I kind of wondered this too, I noticed he posted less and less over the years. Maybe he ran out of content, got bored or just moved on to different things in life.
I wonder if they "recycled" the bikes after every season, added bosses, guides etc. Maybe they chanegd logos? Here are two more photos. The drive side dropout is stamped with a "12" Wondering if this meant frame 12 of XX frames or was made for rider #12. I don't have photos of the bottom bracket.
Came across this frame the other day, its branded Colnago but with boule d'or engravings on the fork and seat stays. I can't seem to find a combination of this frame with over the BB cable routing the this later model fork anywhere, including the boule d'or bits, unless it was a special order...
I just picked up a NOS Cilo frame that unfortunetly has the old Shimano proprietary downtube bosses. I've been mucking around with trying to get some Campagnolo and Simplex shifters to mount but have no luck so far. Is there a way to mount these mayne with an adapter kit or something similar? I
Thanks for the replies and info. I got a good deal on a set of 6 speed campy wheels so those will go on the Corbetta along with a Vitcory groupset. The Cilo after a repaint will get either 600 or similar or a mix since I probably have enough stuff laying around to build something up
I have a few frames I'd like to build up over the winter, a Cilo and a Corbetta. I was thinking of going with Campy Record or Victory for the builds, but I have another Cilo with Shimano 600 which I also really like. So I was wondering which groupset was more common to see on mid-high end road...
