Give it a goog check if its the Welded Titaneum Xt. My forks also failed. The lug came out on a bend Ouch. They where only hammered in, with grease on, Dur. On close examination the two front fork tubes where splitting down the whole length as well scary. They where made by X-Lite for dyna tec
I asked at the deale I bought the TORUS XT from if he would send it back last year when it broke he refused. I was in a different shop later in the year and as he was a Raleigh dealer and a cyclist! Deeside Cycles - Connas Quay-North Wales) he said he would send it back. Raleigh sent it back to...
That's true, I talked to X-Lite when my 94 welded Ti frame cracked. They where in conference with DYNA-TEC about it. I have always found that you can see cracks even i painted if you look hard enough. I suppose its just a matter of looking hard. Only place you cant see is the fork crown to...
The Torus in 1994 was made from an IMI alloy that was 3% aluminium.

Any One have more info?

It is shimmed with an alloy sleeve. The "USE" sleeve that was fitted by the dealer is the same length. My previous Taurus started to faile round the same welds. I have a friend who is LLoyds certified he told me this would happen...
I have a Taurus XT , welded Ti frame made out of IMI Alloy ( 6%) aluminium) 1994 se pick showing fatigue failure on seat tube. I have seen others crack round the weld ( whene quite new). they where made by X-LITE and the fault is due to "Cold Overlap" on the weld". There is also an Alu alloy...
I have a perfect pair.
I fitted a pair of team SID's so I took them of my Torus XT Frame some time ago. The X-Lite forks have new bearings. They are Timken taper bearings and far better than the normal headset bearings.
I also have the x-Lite detailed diagrams and could scan them if you are...
