    AJ Wells?

Hello all, it's been a while since I last posted on here; alas no retro projects to speak of. Until now, that is! I have recently come across an old 531 framed Tandem in large lumps, i.e. Frame, forks, cranks etc. The frame is marked "A.J. Wells" and was wondering if anybody had any info on who...

New years starting off with a bang! Ritchey

Re: Really nice resto! Where oh where did the 26" Comp III's come from??

    Jad bxm

Re: I remember Jad BMX's. Not very common and not overly popular with the majority of people. I thik they all had a large diameter single tube on the front, leading to fairly large seatstays, with thin chainstays. Seem to be well made though and there were some CNC'd cranks, stems etc. Nearly...

    Middleburn RS7 Arm??

I know this is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a spare Middleburn RS7 Square-Taper LH crank arm in 175mm? Mine's decided to crumble

    Saracen Traverse fork questions

Hi all, I'm going to be collecting a 1992 Saracen Traverse frame this evening and I had a few questions in advance that someone may know the answers to! I'm assuming due to the year that the frame would have been pre-suspension, so around 400m A-C, maybe 420mm? Also, looking at Drystonepauls...

    Raleigh GT250 Grand Turismo

I have a Raleigh GT250 Grand Turismo Frameset for sale. 21" ST and 22 1/2" TT. In nice condition for age, comes with original cranks BB and headset. Any questions, at all, then please do ask. I'm in Dover, Kent if you want to collect, otherwise I'll be happy to bubblewrap and send via a courier...

Dawes Galaxy - original pannier rack - fit for purpose?

Re: Sorry for the thread resurrection! But, Mr. Rhodes, do you have the size to hand of the seatpost? I have a similar vintage Galaxy and the post is the last piece of the puzzle!

    Dawes Galaxy - Refurb Complete.

Re: Looking good! It looks to be a similar age to the one I have sitting about. 120mm rear end and 27" wheels, I take it?

Dawes Galaxy fork length and general qusetions

Re: Chat Noir, thanks for doing that, I'll have a proper look later on. Sounds like you've a lot of fond memories of yours! The threadless fork option is purely pragmatic. There seems to be plenty of suitable alternatives on ebay anyway- I'd much prefer to keep it with a quill stem.

Dawes Galaxy fork length and general qusetions

Ahhh, I did have a look, but only seem to be able to find 90's catalogues. The link would be terrific. I'm now wondering if the decals are original. I have a few parts in the cupboard at the moment that I was going to use on a Raleigh GT250- TA Cyclotourist cranks and Mafac Racer brakes and a...

Dawes Galaxy fork length and general qusetions

Evening all, I picked up a Dawes Galaxy frame at the weekend for the sum of £15. I've managed to date it roughly to the mid '70s from the Reynolds decal and the paintjob. I was going to just sell it on, but it turns out it's just my size, I've got most of the bits to fit etc...

    Raleigh Grand Turismo GT250

I recently got hold of a GT250 frameset and was looking for more information about them. I seem to have come to the same stumbling block though as there just isn't that much about them. So......same frame and forks as the Gran Sport and this had some Carlton connection as well? Also, the tubes...

    Raleigh GT250 and derailleurs

Good evening all, Ive posted on the MTB side, but never on here, so hello to you all! I recently bought a Raleigh GT250 frameset and currently thinking about the rebuild. The frame and forks are tatty-sh, but nice enough not to restore and the cranks, headset etc are all in very good condition...

    Marzocchi Fork Oil query

Re: Brilliant, thanks. I had started looking around and finding a minefield of conflicting and maybe, far-too in-depth, information. I'll go with the Silkolene then!

    Marzocchi Fork Oil query

Hi all, I've been slowly rebuilding a Bomber Flylight Z4 fork and have come to the point where I need to buy fork oil. Now, after a little digging, I keep coming across a recommendation for Golden Spectro Oil, however this doesn't appear to be available in the UK. Anyone have a good tip on oil...
