    My budget 12 spd build so far has been good but on closer inspection, the freecycled rear has damaged ball races and broken spokes. If anyone has an excess of wheels, it would be good to hear from you.

    My lucky day. Tonight I collected from a freecycler a beautiful but rusty frame along with a complete not so beautiful bike. Trying to id the frame with these Peugeot sites but although I am getting close, cant find an exact match. Looks like a 1987 Ventoux...

    Last bike that I took to bits was about 20 years ago when I converted my dad's then vintage Dawes 531 into a fixed wheel commuter complete with a paint job courtesy of a VW bodyshop. All those components you could actually dissemble, toss in turps and apply grease to for a good-as-new ride...
