It's been 12 years now... (FSR content)

Love watching your progress. I use 130 psi in my rear shock. I have the psi to rider weight chart if you're interested. I had a new set of bushings a couple of years ago. Before I put them in the bike, I took measurements of them all so someone can mill a new set when my current ones wear out.

    1986? Dirt Shark

Can't believe I've been riding this bike for two years and almost 2000 miles now. After the 2014 M700 build, I went with a 6 speed M730 all silver build in 2015. Now, 2016 and I'm moving into the early 90s with a 7 speed M732 all black look. Any thoughts on a white saddle with white grips? I...

1988 Mountain Goat Deluxe // Dino Paint

I love Mountain Goats, but that paint puts this one in it's own category. Fantastic! You should take more pictures with a real landscape in the background. There's something about an MTB sitting in it's environment.

    racing a retro

I race my retro bikes and get a lot of positive feedback for the most part. I used clips on my pedals a couple of years ago and got some flack about how dangerous that was from the younger guys.

    1994 Stumpjumper FSR Revival - FINISHED 2015-03-25

Re: Re: The '95 S-works is slightly different from the '94. Can't believe I had a picture - top is my '94, chain would catch that weld between the dropout and the seat stay. The bottom is my '95 and it looks like Spec cleaned up the weld (maybe to accept 8 cogs?). I've run the '95 as a...

    1994 Stumpjumper FSR Revival - FINISHED 2015-03-25

Re: 1994 Stumpjumper FSR Revival Love bikes with a coming back home story. That's my favorite color FSR. Since your plan includes modern components, I'll give you my lesson learned with that frame. It won't take more than a 7 speed cassette without the chain rubbing the seat stay on the...

    Winter Project #1: 1994 Specialized S-Works FSR

Ah, those are fairly easy to remove. I used a philips head screwdriver roughly the same diameter as the bushing and pushed it out. Once you have the stays apart, there is similar bushing to remove using the same method. Then the last bushing, a top hat style, is much more difficult to remove.

    Winter Project #1: 1994 Specialized S-Works FSR

I rebuilt mine not too long ago. If you're talking about the top hat bushing, I don't think it can be removed without destroying it. Or at least I couldn't find a way. If you don't have the rebuild kit, I wouldn't even attempt to remove it.
