Man... it really is such a nice piece... but after riding it a fair bit, and over some distance... there is no escaping the fact that it's too small for me at 6ft tall. Too short in the top tube, too short in the leg... just a bit too small.

Not that I am any sort of a touring expert, but the reason why tourers are typically built on the sturdy side, with an equally beefy set of components is the presence of front and rear racks, which can be loaded up to considerable weights. Sometimes the racks are even welded into the frame...

Amazing thing about a tube is that the stress is evenly distributed around the wall. In order for the tube to fail like that, has to be sufficiently huge deformation for the tube to have ended up getting...

Umm... just one small question... are you sure that's thermoplastic? I'm pretty sure that most carbon composites are thermosets not thermoplastics, and are based on epoxy. Thermoplastic composites do exist, employing plastics such as nylon, but I'm pretty sure that GT used epoxy same as...
