I get that.
Been round the block and tried all the bikes, styles , suspension travels and sub genres. I`ve tried nearly it all and when it comes to down to it, the truth is this. I`m now in spite of my years of enthusiasm, stuck in the past. I`m back to where I was in the 90s with a Steel...
I have to agree with the above from fjpshaw, which obviously affects marketing.
I just think it`s peaked. Be interesting to hear from a shop owners perspective.
Like a lot of people on here I`ve seen most stuff come and go but recently, ie; the last year or so there have been less new mountain biking `enthusiasts` being noticed.
When I was riding rigid steel bikes in 1992 there wasn`t the en mass MTB community there is now. It was done mostly for the...
Give it a year or two and it`ll be a 30er or a 28 and a halfer.
Anything to keep selling stuff. Rode one 29er. Felt like an `offroad racer` but not unpleasant. Fast enough but a bit gangly at times. The opposite you`d feel when jumping onto a BMX.
If you like it, ride it. They`re all bikes.

Its definately not 27.2 as I`ve tried that first. I suspect a 26.8 or 27 but need clarification. Nice attempt though :D
Would like an old XTR post to fit but I`ll have to wait to see what the diameter is
Any of you guys know the seat post diameter of the old HT3?
I`m building one up and a size would be handy.
I must have every size spare bar the one i need
Re: Ride on
I was/am pleasantly surprised as to how comfortable it is on long epics. I`ve done 58 miles in the saddle in one go recently and it was as good as ANY hardtail I`ve had. I had reservations about the top tube length (or lack of it) too but, no, its a great bike to pilot...
For anyone thats reading, it needs a front brake. Maybe stick a V on and junk the disc. But by christ, its fast. Stiff and a wee bittu harsh but speed is definately this bikes forte.
I`m going to order a new fork. I know is not maybe the done thing but there`s only so much retro stuff I can...
