I managed to break the spring in my right pedal on my commute to work this morning. I acquired a large box of bits for Time Equipe a few years ago, including springs. Anyone have experience of fixing these and can give me a steer? Richie

On my commute to work this morning I dropped into a lower gear, only to have the cable twang and shift to the smallest cog. It seems the nylon/plastic bush inside has given up, does anyone have a fix? I can replace the whole thing, but are parts available? Richie

Re: I bought a dozen packs with the old stapled card header from the US a few years ago. Some profligate use, re-wrapping bars Willy nilly, leaves me with 5 packs. That could be my lifetime supply as I'm only ever riding retro, but you might persuade me on a pm with a worthy project.... I also...

Re: Louviot rode for Toshiba in 1990, there are pictures online, and on Retrobike too, of riders on Super U Raleigh/Castorama frames in Toshiba jerseys. Always confusion in retro land!

Re: 'Extended head tube' must be modern for 'raised stem'. Did all pro riders not ride as small a frame as possible back in that day? Deep drop bars let them raise the tops for climbing, but with a flat back for the rouleur's days.
