    Claud Butler Limited Edition 1991

Is your the same as mine? They're not worth much sadly. I think I paid £70 for mine.

    1994 Saracen Kili Ultra

Thanks all, just noticed this had floated up to near the top again. I've still got it, it hangs on the wall in the room I use as a gym along with my other retros. I'm still keeping an eye out for the bits needed to make it perfect. There's a NOS saddle on ebay currently but I can't quite justify...

    Claud Butler Limited Edition 1991

No worries, it is indeed perhaps the "cheapest" bit of the frame which is otherwise really nicely welded and lugged. Even inside where I poked about a bit to check condition it's nicely done. When I rebuilt it it brought back memories. I ended up putting an early Hope Ti Glide on mine back in...

    Claud Butler Limited Edition 1991

Thanks. And yes, if the saddle is vaguely decent I'll have it! There was one on ebay very recently but it was a women's one so super wide. There are a couple on there now but they're in the US. I think you're probably right on the frame the 500 and 501 versions probably got used on a few bikes...

    Claud Butler Limited Edition 1991

So, after my other recent factory spec build of my Saracen Kili Ultra in all it's Ti and XTR glory it was time for something a little more prosaic but with a lot of significance for me. Picture the scene; it's the run up to Christmas 1991. 16 year old me has been getting properly into MTBing...

    Pro Flex 856 18" - restored

That measurement is 20". Bear in mind though that the kick up in the top tube towards the seat tube means that it's more like an 18" on a normal rigid frame.

    Pro Flex 856 18" - restored

Intrigued, I've been back to the garage. Here it is now. Photo also shows the chip just above the downtube gusset. A quick measure of the front and rear elastomer stacks and the front is approx 65mm top to bottom and the rear 70mm.

    Pro Flex 856 18" - restored

Yeah, sure. It's on my list to do, I'd forgotten the snaps here were taken before I tweaked it. Might be tomorrow. I'll also take a snap of the chip in the paint.

    Pro Flex 856 18" - restored

No worries, that's really interesting, I'd not spotted that before. The number of elastomers it has is how it came to me, and there wasn't a spare one of those spacers that go between them kicking about. I was busy being amazed they weren't a crumbly mess. I will say that after those pics...

    Pro Flex 856 18" - restored

Time for me to sell my Pro Flex 856, it's an 18" I bought it a couple of years ago as I was getting into Retrobikes. At the time it was honest, mostly original but in a pretty sorry state. I set about a big restoration job that involved a total strip down, dismantle and rebuild of all...

Exact time dependent I would be interested in coming along. I'm over near Audlem so only a short drive away.

    1994 Saracen Kili Ultra

Thank you all. A bit of tweaking tonight. New BB installed so now there's no rubbing and the seatpost now stays put!

    1994 Saracen Kili Ultra

:D Ta, it's a bit chock a block at the moment! The bikes (well the built up ones, there's more in bits in the loft out of sight of my wife) will all be out in a separate outbuilding once the builders finish messing with it and I also need to get all the gardening stuff out so that the biggest...
