Thought I'd post an update on my bike since I originally posted it in this FSR thread way back in 2011 (back on page 5 for the original details!)
In 2015 I replaced the rear SID Dual Air shock for a DT Swiss SSD 190L as the SID had no lockout and used to pogo about like a pogo-y thing, sucking...

My local auction house usually sell crap bikes, but every now and then there's an interesting one and this week's is certainly different if anyone fancies it.

Yes, the first two digits on the serial number should be the year - mine (97SF00XXXX) is located on the bottom of the bottom bracket.
They did make this frame for a few years, and your's is obviously a later DH model as it has the extra gusset at the top of the head-tube and the 'top/down'...
Added some more stuff some of you guys might be interested in – mainly a Contour HD camera and Helmet Mount kit (with quite a few nice extras) if you fancy filming your spring/summer rides.

I've had it from new, first reading about it in MountainBike Action magazine (they'd made it their 'Bike of the Year '97') and then bought it from Leisure Lakes in Daventry...
My baby - 1997 Ground Control FSR Comp which I've owned from new - had a few upgrades since then :)

Hi guys,
Finally thought I'd get round to posting a few pics of my old FSR on here, prompted by popping into my LBS with it a couple of weeks ago (a rare outing for it) and one of their staff commenting on how good its condition was for its age.
I've had it since new, first reading about it in...
As I've been lurking on the site for a while now, and started posting a bit recently, I thought I'd add a few piccies of my old shirts and other bits and bobs.
They're from about '96-onwards, so hope they qualify as 'retro' enough...

And the first...
Here's some of my old Rox t-shirts from yonks ago - the only one that's had heavy use is the 'Till Death shirt which I used to wear when I went to warehouse raves back in the day.
