Ok, so Uwe Brell lives pretty near me in Sossenheim. He's an active RTF rider (bit like Audax) in his 70's, winning all his age group competitions. Sounds like a bit of a legend by all accounts.

I personally think it´s an own-brand frame sold by the Pohlmann bike shop in Hanau in the 80s. Unfortunately Pohlmann aren´t around any more so the trail goes cold there. Still, nice wee winter bike and an easy build from the parts bin. Rides very nicely indeed.

Cooker, I think you're the only person in the world trying to do this! One of the many problems you will have is that the top derailler pulley has no float so the indexing has to be absolutely bang on. I'm all for mixing and matching stuff, i do it myself, but I think you might be on a road to...
