    In search of .....

Looking for the year and model of this Rocky Mountain... Blizzard, I believe. White bike with an Aboriginal BC paint scheme. Similar to this shirt. Anyone?

    kona decals

I don't own a Kona (would love to though) but I had to read this thread only because I knew gil would drop a set of decals in here out of nowhere. Quick plug for him here - I know there are many places to get these but gil's are top quality and he delivers - fast! If it's going to be a...

    Drunk new years purchases?

I bought 4 tequila shots after a dozen pints and now need to buy a new shirt due to the mud that somehow streaked the front of the one I was wearing last night when I tried to toboggan down a wet hill head first ..... with no toboggan. beats having to explain a 25lb frame with crap bit...

    1991 Rocky Mountain Experience

for what it's worth, Gil's decals are amazing. He sends extras of the head tube logos but the smaller of the two is the one that is the correct size for the factory original on the head tube and the seat tube. Some folks put the larger one on the head tube but it's all personal preference...

    198? Rock Mountain Hammer

It's either an 88 Fusion upgraded to the component specs of the 89 or an 89 Fusion painted to the 88 colour specs. Here's the reason why it's not a Hammer and why I know those are not the original stickers. The reason I say it's been re-stickered is because those decals are from 90 to...

    Rocky Mountain Cirrus

I wouldn't shim that seat post. That's the reason why so many of the Cirrus's had cracks at the QR. Lots of people found that replacement posts at 30.4 were a pain to find so they used shims and a common post size - and those caused the cracks due to the need to really snug them up.

1991 Rocky Mountain Cirrus **New project** Update 10.10.2011

Don't sand bast it unless you intend to paint it!!! If you do, don't use sand, you'll need walnut shells or something that won't penetrate the alum.

1991 Rocky Mountain Cirrus **New project** Update 10.10.2011

My Cirrus has a 30.4 seat post - just pulled it out to verify. As for the anodizing, you either have to polish the frame as best you can and live with it or you have to remove it all. You'll find that as you polish it up, the peeled portions of the anodizing will show up even more...

1991 Rocky Mountain Cirrus **New project** Update 10.10.2011

All of those frames have clear anodizing as a frame protector. Also - Are you certain you need a 27.0 seatpost? I'm positive mine is a 30.6 or something like that. Will double check tonight for you (our time). I'd hate to see you source one out and find it's too small. 27.0 are normally...

    19?? Rocky Mountain Stratos

I'd be inclined to remove the fork and give it a good cleaning and inspect that rust. I'd hate to see the fork snap and you wind up ruining that bike, and possibly injuring yourself too. Tange decals can be re-created, riders can't. Remove all the rust you can and give it a good spray with...

    19?? Rocky Mountain Stratos

What a great find!!! That's an 89. 88 had the U brake under the chain stays. 90 had V brakes. Curious what the plans are with this one and what is / isn't functional given it was stored in a damp shed. From the pics, it looks like a good cleaning is about all it needs.

    Third party bidders?

Sounds like a proxy would just delay the shipping. Why not just use a sniper site? It helps to keep the price lower instead of placing you high bid early on and the seller keeps bumping it up with a secondary account. Sniper sites take your bid up to a week in advance and post your max bid in...
