    Eek. What a shame. Btw, does anyone know where I can get bars like that? I fancy trying some on my fixed wheel bike. Thanks. Added later: I've answered my own question.

    You're close I think. My understanding is that straight forks were introduced as part of the 1988 product range, so late in 1987. I'm happy to be corrected though. It's a lovely looking bike.
