A really nice job. From the start point of a crusty mess to a resplendent shiny thing. Definitely a great rescue and enjoy the admiring looks you're going to get when out riding it.

One of the Gemini frames I bought recently had the same crankset on it and I now need to find a project to use it on, although its in need of a pretty deep polish

Their the ones I enjoy the most, the ones that make me think. The ones that are just paint and reassemble don't give me the same satisfaction.

Hello That's interesting, these things are always difficult to get to the bottom of with such little info but I must admit I'd discounted it being a Mercian frame from that period as I understood it would have 5 digits rather than 4 in the frame number?

I like the idea of differing colour cable outers, never thought of that before but I think it would be more effective with Shimano rather than Campagnolo brifters and I had the pale blue to hand for this one, I might end up doing that on another build though.

Not at this stage but you never know, most builds are in flux in my bike shed anyway.
