My kids found some abandoned/stolen MTB week ago (POS Chinese 24inch rims)
The 13yr old hid the bike behind some shrubs after bike in the same place for 2weeks
We picked it up
Missing seat and post but shifted well
Front rim had horrible wobble
Figured might as well...
Second option would be to get a ‘almost’ the correct sized shim
Then grind down to fit
vvvThis is a handlebar shim I used for 20yrs before my rebuild (I had to go riser bars because of my neck)
The first option
Get similar size material for shim
I used portion of the SP that fit
Then honed out the inner portion at friend’s shop
Vise is critical, I used a hand held drill
The drill bit was cylinder shaped (like a can)
Then cut a vertical slit
i remember this took me hours to get perfect
