    retro bike spotted today.

I thought this had had a respray a while back, but after bothering to take a photograph and comparing, it looks like a different bike. Same place, so the owner must be a fan of Kirks.

    Rocky Mountain Blizzard 1995

It came with the frame, which I bought off here. It's a Spinner. Can't say anything bad about it.

    Frame numbers Rocky Mountain

The other 95 Blizzard on the list is mine. It also has Rocky Mountain dropouts. A little thread of it here : http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 5#p2633508

    Coke can shims

Assuming it's for the headset, you wrap a single thickness shim around the cups and the pressure should keep it in place as you press the headset in. I've also got shims on the bottom bracket for holding a crank on. With these I've glued the shim on.

Steel then and now - is there really a noticeable difference

You can't compare Independent Fabrication to cheap, heavy, mass-produced stuff like Surly.

    Yeti homage

John Parker seems happy with it.

    Yeti homage

As an owner of a Ritchey P29er, I never understood why Yeti didn't make a FRO 29er. I'm sure they'd sell.

Mountain Goat Whiskey Town Racer Frame - LAST FEW DAYS

Design wise it looks a bit bland. This was made in that big factory MG had which built a load of other brands' frames, before they went bust.
