Mmm...doesn't look right to me either. Are those Merlin drop-outs? Don't remember them being like that...and that head-tube is huge for a 1990 bike surely. Wouldn't it have a press fit BB and 130mm rear spacing?
What do I know
 
I think the frame is ok, but I don't know about the decals. The M and the E are fused together on real Merlin decals. The photos below correspond to the eBay frame and they are by Mombat, so we can rely on their authenticity.

Why would this be a "different" font on the downtube. Everything looks super authentic. Its just the color. You can drop Rob Vandermark an E-mail at Seven Cycles and ask him about details of the past...
