Pro-flex 957 frame up build *stripping content*

I’ve sold a few bikes recently which has cleared some space for me to fish this down from the loft.
I bought it as a complete bike, which was in a bit of a state to be honest but I’ve managed to sell the wheels and forks for more than I shelled out for the bike.
Before I stripped it down I got it rideable and was so impressed with it, it’s prompted me to give it the build that it deserves and will hopefully be one that I keep.

Easton elite tubeset? That’s a bonus, didn’t know that.

Seatpost clamp (was black) stripped.
I was going to paint this frame red (as it was originally) but it does look good polished..
Decisions, decisions..

Good start. I’d be interested to see how you get on with fork rebuild/alignment. My mostly origin 856 seems to have a slight twist by the time you get down to the dropouts, I suspect due to all the pivot points And maybe due to a missing washer I need to try get reproduced.

Frame fully polished and carbon swinger installed. I was missing one of the rubber o rings on the swing arm but found a matching thickness one in my plumbing kit.

It was a slightly larger diameter but the plumbers trick of cutting a section out and supergluing the ends together sorted it.

Ah, I’ve cheated a bit here.. I had this set of Girvins off another bike and they’re in perfect condition - so no need to strip and re-build these. Wheels and tyres are not necessarily the ones I’ll be using, I just wanted to get it on the ground for a look.
I like the Easton carbon bars and seatpost though - they fit with the swing arm nicely (and the fact the frame is Easton tubing too now that I think about it..).
So far so good, incredibly light - need to keep that going. :)

Had a bit more time today, so got the cockpit sorted out. Went with XTR M950 levers and v brakes and a nifty sunrace 9 speed thumb shifter. This will be going 1x9, I’ve a similar set up on my Killer V and have been happy with how it works.
Had these Renthal lock on grips in my spares box and they suit the look of the bike too.

I’ve got a choice of M951 or M952 rear mech, think the middle 951 is looking to be the one I’ll use.

Last update for today is the cranks I’ll use. These Raceface are pretty light despite their chunky looks and will take the single n/w chainring which I already had. Bit of tidying up and they should be good to go.

Need to decide on wheels next.
