Yesterday I picked up a great Specialized S-Works Steel, from 1993.
It's in near perfect conditions (considering age) and it's really a "catalogue correct" condition (apart tyres, canti's hanger and grips).

When I think; 'what is a mountain bike', it is always that model that comes to mind. It was my dream bike back then and still is now. Lovely!

I'm having similar one in smaller size to Yours (now as a frameset not a full bike)
Frame is weight 1941 grams including cable guide down the BB, forks 691 grams!

Differences I saw - mine had XTR seat skeewer and XT M730 head set
