FS Bradbury ROAD bike SUSPENSION fork ! paris-roubaix

le fat yeti

Retro Newbie
Back in the day when the rockshox paris-roubaix was the winning weapon of the cobbled classics, Doug Bradbury, father of the Manitou suspension forks that dominated the mtb scene stood in his own workshop perfecting what was to be the ultimate suspension road racing fork.
The result was this stunning fork, with about 1 inch of adjustable travel, off-the-charts low weight, and of course totally cnc machined and anodized.
This fork is made by Doug himself, not by answer products who by then made the mtb forks, - as the logo says "Bradbury Racing Components" -BRC.
This fork originally came off a show bike from an early (i believe interbike) fair, this is one of the only two forks exhibited, and i have never come across any fork other than these two.
Put it on that special ride and be confident you will be the only one having one !

This fork is in very good condition, i have had it since it was new and sporadically used it during half a season, the legs virtually unscratched, functions as new.

The fork is made for regular 700c wheels, takes a regular road brake caliper, it is NOT a cyclocross fork but on the contrary a very tight fit road fork for short reach brakes, i would guess that the maximum tire it accept is probably a 700x28c.
As you can see the dropouts are tapering inwards, and the hub width is regular 100mm, should give you an idea of the size.
Long 224mm 1 inch threadless steerer tube for aheadset. Weight appr. a little less than 900 grams according to my rather crude scale. In any case it is for the incredibly smooth ride that you would ride this fork, not for the weight....... :-)

Asking £150 O.B.O.
I myself am looking for campagnolo 9sp centaur-record groupsets or parts, should you happen to have some parts i could be interested to swap !

Nuts. What on earth would you put it on though?

After the very cold weather the roads are a knightmare with craters, not pot holes

Think these forks would be very usefull!

very rare forks and uber cool 8)

Resurrecting an old thread...

I've recently come into possession of one of these, too!

They're in great shape, need a bit of a dust-off... but I noticed that the stanchions are wearing in the exact same place as le fat yeti's above...

Poor anodising, perhaps? Seals too stiff and scratching away? Hmmm... the elastomers seem totally fine. Need to build something up around this!

I would be stoked the Elastomers are still ok :D ,I had one of the first Manitou forks on a mtb and after a (long) while all the elastomers turned to goo. I ended up using a bit of timber broom handle instead which kept the same look/head angle but with no suspension benefits

Resurrecting an old thread... I was moving some boxes in the shop where I work and I found a couple of these forks brand new in the brc boxes, labeled 230mm steerer. Anyone want to buy one for £150 plus shipping from france?
Regards,
James
